What it is

Environmental compliance, led on demand

Environmental compliance is where growing industrial companies get caught flat-footed. The permits, monitoring, and reporting obligations under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA don’t wait for you to hire a specialist — and a single missed deadline or unfiled report can turn into an EPA enforcement action, a stop-work order, or a six-figure penalty.

A fractional environmental compliance consultant gives you a certified professional to own those obligations — securing and maintaining permits, keeping your reporting current, and building the systems that keep you compliant as you grow. You get environmental leadership sized to your operation, not a full-time salary you’re not ready for.

What we cover

Full-spectrum environmental compliance

Air permitting & compliance

Title V and minor-source (synthetic minor) air permits, emissions inventories, applicability determinations, and ongoing monitoring and reporting under the Clean Air Act.

Stormwater, SPCC & SWPPP

Industrial stormwater permits, Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) — written, implemented, and kept current.

RCRA & waste compliance

Hazardous waste generator status determinations, manifesting, storage and labeling, biennial reporting, and RCRA compliance under federal and state programs.

EPCRA/Tier II, TRI (Form R), and other federal and state reporting — tracked against deadlines so nothing lapses, plus audit and enforcement-response support.

ISO 14001 & EMS

Environmental Management System design and ISO 14001 readiness — turning compliance from a scramble into a repeatable, auditable system your team can run.

ESG & sustainability reporting

Emissions tracking, sustainability strategy, and ESG reporting that stands up to customer, investor, and lender scrutiny — practical, defensible, and tied to your operations.

Why it matters

The cost of getting environmental wrong

Enforcement is expensive

EPA and state penalties are assessed per violation, per day. A lapsed permit or missed report isn’t a paperwork problem — it’s a financial and reputational one that compounds quietly until it doesn’t.

Environmental is now diligence

Buyers, lenders, and insurers look hard at environmental liability. Clean permits and defensible reporting protect your valuation in a sale or financing — gaps quietly erode it. See how EHS affects enterprise value →

Common questions

Environmental compliance FAQ

What does an environmental compliance consultant do?

An environmental compliance consultant secures and maintains your environmental permits, keeps your monitoring and reporting current, and builds the systems that keep you compliant with EPA and state regulations — covering air, water, and waste programs so a missed deadline never becomes an enforcement action.

Do I need an air permit for my facility?

It depends on your emissions and equipment. Many industrial facilities need at least a minor-source (synthetic minor) permit, and larger emitters need a Title V permit. We run an applicability determination so you know exactly what you’re required to hold — and help you avoid operating out of compliance.

What’s the difference between SPCC and SWPPP?

An SPCC plan prevents and controls oil spills that could reach navigable waters; a SWPPP controls pollutants in industrial stormwater runoff. Many facilities need both. We determine what applies to your site and write, implement, and maintain the plans.

Can you help with an EPA notice of violation or audit?

Yes. We support enforcement responses, corrective-action plans, and audit preparation — and, more importantly, build the ongoing program that keeps you out of that position going forward.
